In the ongoing vote counting for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Omar Abdullah of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference is leading with 2,146 votes, reflecting an increase of 622 votes from previous trends. In contrast, Bashir Mir from the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party has garnered 1,524 votes, showing a decrease of 622 votes.

Early trends for the Ganderbal seat indicate that the alliance between the National Conference and Congress is leading in 31 constituencies, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ahead in 18 seats, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has secured 2 seats.
Omar Abdullah is currently leading in both Ganderbal and Budgam, while Iltija Mufti, the daughter of Mehbooba Mufti, is trailing in the Srigufwara–Bijbehara seats.

In a recent statement, Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and the party’s candidate for Ganderbal and Budgam, addressed speculation about a potential alliance with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He clarified, “Neither have we asked for any support from them nor have we received any support… let the result come. Not sure why we are so restless; let the result come, right now nobody has the number… right now we are not in need (of their support)… once the result is out, we will analyse…” Abdullah emphasized the importance of awaiting election results before considering any alliances.

As the Ganderbal election results is set to be announced today, Omar Abdullah remains optimistic about his party’s efforts. In a statement earlier today, Abdullah expressed his confidence in the hard work of his team, saying, “Here’s wishing all my colleagues and allies the very best of luck for today. We fought the good fight & now, InshaAllah, the results will reflect that.”
In the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh from the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) won the Ganderbal seat.
