From Anil Sharma, the director of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Gadar 2 and Apne, came another heartfelt family drama, Vanvaas last year. In a strategic move that defies the current norm, Zee Cinema brings the World TV premiere of Vanvaas even before it comes on OTT, on March 8 at 8 pm.

Vanvaas is an emotional journey that celebrates the beauty of relationships. After Gadar 2, the hit jodi of Utkarsh Sharma and Simratt Kaur Randhawa reunite in Vanvaas, bringing a breeze of freshness to their characters. Utkarsh Sharma adds sincerity and charm, while Simratt delivers a graceful, heartfelt performance. The film beautifully captures the essence of family bonds, love, and sacrifice, making it deeply relatable and emotionally stirring.
Director Anil Sharma expressed, “I wanted to make a film that resonates with all age groups, speaks to all generations and brings families together. Vanvaas is about love, values and the emotional bonds that define us. In today’s world, a 70-80 year old man is feeling like vanvaasi at his home, has nobody to talk to, the situation of society has become like this. Many elders feel like outsiders in their own homes, this is the reality we often overlook. There is a saying, Pita ka karm hai bachcho ko palna, bachcho ka dharm hai maa pita ko sambhalna and I completely agree with it. Speaking about the film, Vanvaas is the story of an abandoned father and an orphaned son finding family in each other. With Mithoon’s soulful music that elevates the emotions while Nana Sir and Utkarsh’s chemistry brings the story to life. When I decided to make Vanvaas, I knew I would only do it with Nana sir, his presence gives it a depth no one else could. This film is an extension of my dream to create family-centric films and I can’t wait for audiences to watch Vanvaas at the comfort of their home on Saturday, 8th March at 8pm.”
Talking about the World Television Premiere, Nana Patekar said, “Vanvaas is a reflection of our times. Families today face so many unspoken struggles like distance, misunderstandings, and a lack of time for each other. At its heart, the film is about parents and how they keep doing things for us selflessly expecting nothing in return. It captures the deep emotion of love and sacrifice.
