Ganderbal J&K Election Results 2024 Live: Ganderbal, one of the 90 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, is part of the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat. Located in the central part of the Union Territory, Ganderbal is bordered by Srinagar to the south, Bandipora to the north, Kargil to the northeast, Anantnag to the southeast, and Baramulla to the southwest.

09.32 AM: Early Trends Show Abdullah Leading With 622 Votes

OMAR ABDULLAH – 2146 (+ 622) 

BASHIR AHMAD MIR – 1524 ( -622) 

In the ongoing vote counting for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Omar Abdullah of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference is leading with 2,146 votes, reflecting an increase of 622 votes from previous trends. In contrast, Bashir Mir from the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party has garnered 1,524 votes, showing a decrease of 622 votes.

09.24 AM: Early Trends For Ganderbal Seat, Abdullah Leading

Early trends for the Ganderbal seat indicate that the alliance between the National Conference and Congress is leading in 31 constituencies, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ahead in 18 seats, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has secured 2 seats.  

Omar Abdullah is currently leading in both Ganderbal and Budgam, while Iltija Mufti, the daughter of Mehbooba Mufti, is trailing in the Srigufwara–Bijbehara seats.

Omar Abdullah, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Vice President, is currently leading in both the Budgam and Ganderbal constituencies during the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election.

08.40 AM: Omar Abdullah Says, ‘Let The Result Come’

In a recent statement, Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and the party’s candidate for Ganderbal and Budgam, addressed speculation about a potential alliance with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He clarified, “Neither have we asked for any support from them nor have we received any support… let the result come. Not sure why we are so restless; let the result come, right now nobody has the number… right now we are not in need (of their support)… once the result is out, we will analyse…” Abdullah emphasized the importance of awaiting election results before considering any alliances.

07.22 AM: Omar Abdullah Remains Optimistic Ahead Of Results 

As the Ganderbal election results is set to be announced today, Omar Abdullah remains optimistic about his party’s efforts. In a statement earlier today, Abdullah expressed his confidence in the hard work of his team, saying, “Here’s wishing all my colleagues and allies the very best of luck for today. We fought the good fight & now, InshaAllah, the results will reflect that.” 


In the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh from the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) won the Ganderbal seat.

The area is known for its scenic landscape and serves as a key stop on the famous Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage route.

As per the 2011 Census, Ganderbal’s population is 297,446, with males making up 53.36% and females 46.64%. The overall literacy rate in the district is 58.04%, with male literacy at 68.85% and female literacy at 45.71%.
