Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday at around 4 p.m will responded to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in the Lok Sabha. In Parliament, PM Modi said that the people have given his government a mandate for stability and continuity for the third consecutive term after testing it on every criterion. Replying to a two-day debate on the President’s address to both houses of Parliament, the PM said that the people have seen the dedication with which his government served them for 10 years.

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks sparked a massive uproar in the Lok Sabha. The BJP has accused the Raebareli MP of “insulting” the Hindu community. Prime Minister Modi also slammed Rahul Gandhi for his remarks, saying that calling “the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious matter.” Home Minister Amit Shah demanded that the Congress leader apologise for his remarks.

During the debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s Address, Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP-led government, claiming there has been a “systematic attack” on the idea of India.

While the BJP later held a press conference to condemn Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, the Congress held an evening press conference to criticise the ruling party at the Centre. Rahul Gandhi launched a multi-pronged attack on the BJP, citing its remarks during the Lok Sabha campaign, the NEET-UG controversy, and the Agniveer scheme.

Here are the updates on the Lok Sabha:

05: 30 PM: In Lok Sabha, PM Narendra Modi slammed the grand old party and said, “These days the Congress people and their eco-system are busy entertaining children (the child who falls while riding a bicycle, but they lie to encourage him by saying that he is riding well). Congress has now become a parasitic Congress. It eats up the votes of the party it joins forces with.”

Mosi further added that the Congress Party conspires to make one caste fight against another.

05: 15 PM Prime Minister Narendra Modi called out Congessa for electoral defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. He added that it would have been better if Congress had accepted its defeat.

“It would have been better if Congress had accepted its defeat and respected the mandate of the people but they are busy doing some ‘Sirsasana’ and Congress and its ecosystem are trying to establish in the minds of the citizens of India that they have defeated us,” Modi said.

05:00 PM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the BJP will take each sector, each success to newer heights. PM added that his party made India the world’s 5th largest economy within just 10 years and now, the pace with which BJP has been moving ahead will soon make our country shine as the world’s 3rd largest economy.

04:50 PM: In Parliament, PM Modi assured the countrymen that we will leave no stone unturned to fulfil the resolution of building a Viksit Bharat.

04:40 PM: While addressing Lok Sabha today, PM Narendra Modi stated that the country has blessed us for our zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.  “Today India’s credibility has increased across the world…The sole aim of our every policy, every decision, every action has been India first,” Modi said.

04:35 PM: PM Modi stated that the country witnessed appeasement politics for a long time. We have followed “santushtikaran” rather than “tushtikaran”.

04:30 PM: During his speech in Lok Sabha, PM Narendra Modi said that our only mission is ‘Nation First’ and the BJP’s works, steps and policies have been oriented towards this very mission and goal.

04:25 PM: “Several MPs expressed their views on the President’s address yesterday and earlier today. I would like express my gratitude to the first-time MPs who expressed their views on President’s address while following all the rules of the House,” says PM Modi.

04:20 PM: “I am present here to reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address. Our President, in her speech, has detailed our resolve of Viksit Bharat. The honourable President has raised crucial issues, she has guided us and the country,” says PM Modi.

04:15 PM: Congress MP and LoP Rahul Gandhi arrives at the Parliament, as PM Narendra Modi replies to Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address, in the Lok Sabha.
