New Delhi: Auto major Tata Motors on Monday unveiled its sub-compact SUV Punch. Customers can book the new model on the company website and dealerships for INR 21,000.
According to the company, the SUV will be launched on October 20 and comes with a new Gen 1.2L Revotron BS-VI engine with latest Dyna-Pro technology. It has advanced AMT with an industry-first ‘Traction Pro’ and offers high ground clearance of 190mm +/-3 mm (Unladen).
It is offered in Engine Drive Modes of City & Eco and has 370 mm water wading capability. Some of the safety features include Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Safety Control, Brake Sway Control to detects the tendency of instability during abrupt braking before the ABS kicks in to avoid vehicle swaying from the driving path, Child Seat ISOFIX Anchor Points, Parametric Alarm System, Tata Motors said.

Its muscular surfacing and an athletic look make a perfect amalgamation for a tough SUV, living up to its bigger siblings. Intelligently designed in a compact footprint, it will be a high impact SUV and will redefine this crowded market. It is bold, young, modern yet robust, compact yet practical, tough yet playful and exudes true expression of confidence and individuality.”

The other features in the SUV Punch include 7″ Harman Infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple Carplay, 7” TFT Instrument Cluster, iRA Connected Car Technology with What3Words & Natural Voice tech, amongst others.
The new model is built on the Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture, and is available in four personas- Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative, with both Manual (MT) and Automatic (AMT) transmission options. It comes in seven vibrant colours and two customization packs- Rhythm and Dazzle.
The SUV was engineered at Tata Motors’ manufacturing facility in Pune, with more than 90% automation in the weld line incorporating some of the latest welding and joinery technologies. It has been extensively tested over 2 million km using more than 150 prototypes through some of the harshest terrains, the auto major said.
