Directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta and presented by Applause Entertainment, an Ellipsis Entertainment production, Do Aur Do Pyaar stars a powerful ensemble of Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy among others.
Director of the film, Shirsha Guha Thakurta, said, “Do Aur Do Pyaar is a very special project for me. It’s a story about modern love. Maybe the epic ‘all or nothing’ kind of love is impractical today. Modern love is not a straight line – it’s not black and white – maybe love is cyclical. It comes and goes. It’s easy to fall in love – but much tougher to make that love stay. This real, lived- in, confusing, messy kind of love was what me and my incredible group of actors – Vidya, Pratik, Ileana and Senthil were trying to explore. Working with them was truly an incredible experience I will always cherish. I’m excited that the audience can now watch our film Do aur Do Pyaar on Disney+ Hotstar and come on this journey into that crazy little thing called love.”
Vidya Balan, who plays Kavya in Do Aur Do Pyaar, said, “Do Aur Do Pyaar is a very unique story, unlike anything I have ever been offered in my career and that’s why for me, it was an immediate yes. Also, the film explores how love and marriage are not synonymous. We’ve seen this play out in society, but we often don’t talk about it or understand its nuances. My character, Kavya, lives through challenges that many will relate to on some level. She is a woman determined to make things work despite numerous trials, all while maintaining her independence. The chemistry between Kavya and Ani is excitingly real, capturing the emotional journey of a relationship. The film’s blend of humour and relatability is precisely why you shouldn’t miss it on Disney+ Hotstar.”
Pratik Gandhi, who plays the role of Ani, said, “Playing Ani felt like playing a part of myself—he’s quiet and keeps to himself.
